Carbon Check (India) Private Limited is an internationally renowned certification body committed to excellence in the delivery of impartial and competent third-party assurance services covering validation, verification, and certification of climate change projects across the world with special focus on Africa and Latin America. CCIPL is accredited, certified, or recognized, as applicable, by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Gold Standard Foundation (GS), Cercarbono, Social Carbon, Climate Community and Biodiversity (CCB), Global Carbon Council (GCC) and SD Vista for providing verification and validation services in each respective regime. Carbon Check is involved in validating project proposals or verifying whether implemented projects have achieved planned greenhouse gas emission reductions. It manages and conducts verification and validation audits of greenhouse gas emission reduction projects. 

Position: Country Representative / Technical Lead / Technical Expert 

Reporting to: Executive Director 

Roles and Responsibility: 

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the company's mission to foster growth, enhance market presence, and uphold environmental standards within country. 
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and governmental agencies to identify business opportunities, comprehend client requirements, and deliver exceptional service.
  • Project Management: Supervise the planning, execution, and delivery of environmental audit projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. 
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and support a team of professionals, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment. 
  • Business Development: Identify new business prospects, partnerships, and avenues for expansion, actively participating in business development endeavors such as proposal drafting, presentations, negotiations, and exploring market opportunities to support national governments' initiatives and policies. 
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Keeping updated with carbon markets and environmental regulations, as well as accreditation standards stipulated by CDM, Cercarbono, VERRA, VCS, and other GHG programs. 
  • Assessment and Reporting: Conduct desktop reviews, site visits, and assessments, accurately documenting findings, observations, and recommendations accurately and comprehensively. 
  • Follow-up Activities: Oversee the implementation of recommended actions, conduct follow-up assessments, and resolve issues identified during technical reviews or audits. 
  • Continuing Professional Development: Stay updated on environmental regulations, assessment methodologies, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development activities. 
  • Serve as Local Expert: Utilize your understanding of the country's regulatory framework, cultural intricacies, and environmental challenges to provide valuable insights and guidance to project teams, clients, and stakeholders. 

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience (minimum of 5 years) in environmental auditing, consulting, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful project management and client engagement. 
  • Familiarity with carbon market regulations, accreditation standards, and assessment methodologies, including those established by Cercarbono, VERRA, GS, and other greenhouse gas programs. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and engage with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Analytical mindset with robust problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. 
  • Fluency in local language and English and a deep understanding of the environmental regulatory landscape and cultural context. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software applications. 
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
